Why would goats cheese poison you as much as something with butter?

It depends whether it's all milk I can't tolerate, or whether it's cow-specific. I'd hoped butter would be okay as it's mostly fat, there's not a lot of cow left in it. I'd expect cheese to be the worst thing for me. But I could be wrong!

Or I could stop eating cheese and finish my Turbozine!

Or you could eat cheese WHILE working on your Turbozine. It would be one of those Fine Fannish Traditions.

Well, if the goats' cheese does turn out to be OK, you could try the shortbread experiment again with goats' butter - quite a few supermarkets sell it now.

Seconded, I use goats' butter for baking when my stomach's not having a "WAH take the dairy away I don't care what it is!" week. There's even goats' cream :)
