A Bug's Life

I bumped into one of the neighbours this morning putting their bin out. It sounded fairly empty, so I cheekily asked if they had any spare space I could use. Our bin is small, and I did more clearing yesterday than fit in it. "Oh yes, for some reason we have two bins and they're both only half full - take what you need," they said. So I'm on a raging mission to clear as much stuff out as possible before the bin men cometh. Goodbye, garam masala best before Oct 06! Farewell, my sweet custard powder!

Anyone local want a sack of cat litter?
Or a bag and a half of barbecue charcoal?
EDIT: Or a barbecue, slightly used? Otherwise I fear it will go to the tip on Friday.

I had suspected there was another box of "sentimental t-shirts" around, and Simon just found it. Plus a bonus Venture Scout and Guide uniform!

We also found another box of "clothes - too small". Now that all my clothes are boxed up I see with horror that 60% of my clothes are Too Small. I must have some sort of brain sickness that makes me keep holding on to them in case I ever become a size 16 again, or 14. There a few 12s too, but I was never a 12.

Lots done. Shed cleared, Bob the Builder (Robert the Handyman) fixed doors and put a lock on the dining room. Dining room is scarily full of stuff already, packed away. The loft boards are great - I keep passing boxes to Simon, he stuffs them up in the loft. It consumes everything we throw at it. And it's not a large loft. Video cassettes are in plastic crates - they'll go live in the shed (too dangerously flammable to leave in the house, apparently!). 7 bags of rubbish in the bin, 4 bags of non-rubbish to the charity shop.

Need to fix gutter, sort out contract, chase gas certificate. Pack, pack, pack, fall over. Repeat.
