Hullo, I have been Sent. (At least I hope this is the right person!!)

[livejournal.com profile] deborah says you were possibly going to live in our spare room while somebody did scary things to your proper house this week but weren't sure because you have never met me in your life. If the scary house things get too much, please feel free to email me on jhd28 at [that big crumbling university thingy] and we can have tea and stuff so you can decide whether unfamiliar person* is a safe bet for escape from builders or not.

*slightly crazy but not actually mean or at least I try hard

Hi there, thanks for dropping in :-) I don't think we've met but I have seen you comment on mutual Friends' LJs - [livejournal.com profile] simont's?

Yes, I am the Bridget who is beset by builders - and there ought to be an Edward Gorey illustration of that. It would feature draughts, chipboard, and plaster dust. They've taken one window out already; on Monday they move the bed. My friend [livejournal.com profile] rhubarbfool (with whom I was at university in 1989) and his family have offered me their spare room for the couple of days, so I'll stay with them, but many thanks to you and [livejournal.com profile] deborah_c for the offer.

I do like a) tea and b) meeting new people, and it would be nice to meet up some day.
