When walking home from the library with a large hardback book and two paperbacks, do not impulse buy a 10-pound watermelon.

Mmmm, watermelon.

Chill in fridge, eat on lawn.

Doh! Bridget goes to put watermelon in fridge. Fridge shelf bows alarmingly.

Will eat tonight with Red Wine Evening attendees.

Just made some very nice humousiod - mashed up half a can of chick peas with some light vinaigrette, very refreshing.

Ooo!

And apparently, you can pickle the rind...

Eurgh. And Watermelon Muffins? They're really getting a bit desparate for recipe ideas at that point.

These people do usually push the point - but watermelon rind pickle isn't that far from marmalade?

Have you ever tried to make me eat marmalade? Eurgh!

Unless I put on 10 lb (of watermelon).

My biceps are knackered! I don't normally use them for anything!

No, not something one could slip into one's cleavage for safe keeping.

Not when it's already holding a large hardback book and two paperbacks, no.

Why didn't anyone warn me about this yesterday?

(Just got back from seeing Batman Begins. Great fun.)
