I've had some knee pain for the last few weeks. Since paying more attention to glute/hamstring stretches to ease the low back, I've noticed the hypermobility in my knees becoming more pronounced and it is time (I suspect) to pay them some proper attention. I'm careful not to over-straighten my legs, I do leg presses (loads of kg) and extensions (20kg) at the gym.

Anything else that might help?

I was pleased with the results from doing Pilates. I was doing it one-on-one with an instructor and about an hour a month made a big difference.

My Pilates video does great things for core stability, not so much for legs - maybe I should take a class :-)

Speaking as another hypermobile person, the only way I've found of avoiding knee pain is regular exercise involving the legs. However, I'm not sure that my solution of morris dancing, swimming and lots of walking is an option for you.

When I can walk, I do it lots!

Well my physio got me to do squats and to straighten my leg from sitting, but that looks like being simple versions of what you're already doing with weights!

I did ballet, but this probably isn't a viable solution for you.

But getting back into Tai Chi ought to help.
