A Bug's Life

Pictures from my recent visit to Manchester for a University reunion. Mostly buildings (red brick and modern) and public art. The city has changed a lot since I was last there, especially since the Arndale bombing. I'd turn a corner and get my bearings, then turn another and be faced with completely new buildings. Favourite new piece: the Tree of Remembrance.


EDIT: Wakes, bleary-eyed. "You were up late," says major_clanger. "I was resizing my pictures to go into Flickr," says I, "and it took ages.". Apparently if you just drop the photos into the uploader tool it offers to resize them for you. Doh!

We found a hardware shop very near by, and took their last toilet brush.
"We don't need a bag," said major_clanger, grandly, and handed it to me to bear proudly through the streets of Bruntsfield while I muttered grimly about how good it is that we're still friends or I might have thought he was being Deliberately Mean.

I've had a long walk, run some errands, been most awfully frivolous, and it's time to do some Java homework. In my efforts to listen to more new music, I bought a new CD! Um, a T-Rex compilation. Disc 1 lasts 1.2 hours so that should give me a good chunk of time to work in. And later we will watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, at-bloody-long-last!
